State Director for the State of New Mexico
Alyssia L. Chapman brings a vast array of skills to her mediation practice, particularly in the areas of business, community relations and real estate. Having had many broad-based opportunities throughout her career, Aly has acquired significant negotiation skills while working in the Information Technology, Real Estate and Law industries, as well as Mediation.
Aly owns Cogent Consulting Corporation which, in addition to mediation services, provides business consulting, computing systems analysis, proposal and technical writing and project and personnel management consulting. Further, Aly is responsible for educating, motivating and being involved in the creation of business opportunities for fledgling small firms, partnerships and corporations so they can become integral members of the business community through Aly's direct efforts in networking, contractual, technical and managerial guidance and marketing.
During Year 2000 preparations, Aly was integral in training, developing and consulting for Business Continuity and Contingency Planning as well as long-term planning, where she traveled throughout the nation encouraging her audiences to negotiate wherever possible, be open to mediating conflicts and forging stronger bonds of cooperation in their respective communities while building their readily-used, comprehensive and effective Plans.
With the rapid changes in the real estate industry where many successful transactions are now being consummated through the assistance of a facilitator, Aly uses her mediation skills to get the parties communicating with one another for a win-win solution. In conflicts between Realtors and/or Realtors and customer/clients, Aly assists in helping the parties arrive at an acceptable if not amiable resolution, thereby saving the parties considerable expense on litigation and court costs. Generally, this opens new doors for further communication, better business and enhanced commerce relations, which yield high benefits in the entire community.
In addition to her Law education, Aly's mediation skills have been instrumental in conducting business contract negotiations, resolving management/labor conflicts, building rapport between contract workers and clients, developing and improving corporate strategic planning, as well as establishing and building technical contract expertise in provision and anticipation of client resource requirements.
Aly holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Juris Doctor from LaSalle University. Aly has been a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of New Mexico for over 15 years.
